Market-Fresh Delicious
I brought a copy of Market Fresh Mixology: Cocktails for Every Season along on a recent family vacation to our lake house. The Summer cocktails were a hit with our crowd. Everyone especially enjoyed the Watermelon Margarita. Simple, fresh, delicious. The recipes are well-organized, easy to follow and great to drink. Even though I am not an expert like the book’s authors the recipes did not intimidate me. This book is going to become a staple in my house. I believe every party should have a signature cocktail-I am now armed with one or more for each season. Beautiful gift book. I look forward to Bridget Albert’s and Mary Barranco’s next collaboration.
Good for Vodka drinkers
As a cocktail lover, I found this book a bit disappointing. The drinks are pretty, and the recipes do call for fresh ingredients. I have no doubt that they are tasty and would be big hits at upscale restaurants and bars. However, as someone who appreciates a wide variety of liquors and liqueurs as cocktail ingredients, it is disappointing that nearly all these drinks call for flavored vodka and juice. I was hoping for a little more variety, and a little less garnish.
Has a drink suitable for every season
The cocktail has long been the symbol of cultured elegance. Now Bridget Albert (a Master Mixologist at Southern Wine and Spirts, and the director of the Academy of Spirits and fine Services in Illinois) with the assistance of Mary Barranco (whose own career spans twenty years in the adult beverage industry) presents “Market-Fresh Mixology: Cocktails For Every Season”, a veritable compendium of recipes and instructions for making memorable cocktails for every dining, partying, and celebratory occasion. Featuring both traditional cocktail recipes and contemporary innovative versions of this popular drink, “Market-Fresh Mixology” has a drink suitable for every season. Beautifully illustrated throughout, this compendium of recipes are organized into cocktails appropriate for Spring, Summer Autumn, and Winter. Of special note are the chapters on ‘Home Bar Essentials’ and ‘Infusions’. An ideal and thoroughly ‘user friendly’ guide, “Market-Fresh Mixology” is enthusiastically recommended for both personal and community reference collections.
Fresh Ideas
What a great book for a party! With this book even an amaturer can make a great drink for all to rave about. During our party we had so much fun trying her receipes. Buy this book for the host/hostess as a gift for your next party and let the fun begin.
The Seminal Work on Fresh Mixology
“Market-Fresh Mixology” is a creative tour de force, a collection of seasonal cocktails so stunning in appearance and brilliant in character that they could only have been devised by Bridget Albert. The inimitable Ms. Albert is one of the country’s most celebrated and esteemed mixologists, and this guide on how to create drinks that sizzle and pop with vitality proves the depth of her talent.
I’ve spent more than 25 years working one side of the bar or the other, so I think I know my way around a mixed drink. After preparing a few of the cocktails in Bridget’s book at our offices, I can now say without reservation that they all looked, smelled, and tasted like a perfect slice of heaven.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who believes life is too short to suffer lackluster cocktails.

market fresh mixology
This is a refreshing way to enjoy each season! I can’t wait to treat my friends to the delicious beverages presented by Bridget and Mary. I always prepare mixed drinks and provide them to my golf buddies on the course. We will no doubt enjoy the rounds of golf, regardless of what the scorecard indicates! I especially appreciate the emphasis on fresh ingredients such as limes, strawberries, rhubarb, watermelon, etc. I also plan on expanding my bar supplies based on Bridget’s recommendations. I would certainly recommend this book to all individuals interested in a more sophisticated way to enjoy their liquid refreshments.
Fresh, Inspired Ideas
This book is filled with great ideas (and great photos – talk about cocktail porn!). The instructions are easy to follow, with very consistent results. Every drink I’ve tried has been fantastic (and popular with my guests), and I can’t say that about most cocktail recipe books in my collection!
Market-Fresh Mixology
Market-Fresh Mixology, is exactly what it says! Cocktails for every season. It provides fresh easy to follow recipes that are creative and delicious. I love that Bridget added a “Tool Box” section on each recipe that lists everything you need to create each cocktail. The homemade syrups are amazing, my favorite is the Honey Rosemary. The added history on the bottom of the classic cocktails is very interesting. Who knew that the Collins dates back to the late 1800′s. When you make the cocktails they actually look like the picture which is an added bonus! Market-Fresh Mixology is my new favorite cocktail book.

Market-Fresh Mixology: Cocktails for Every Season
AMAZING!! This is not your typical cocktail recipe guide but rather a map for an inspiring journey that takes you where simple, pure, fresh and flavorful take on a whole new meaning. Having only tried the Summer Season thus far,Bridget Albert and Mary Barranco definitely show you how to add sunshine to cloudy days and savor the tastes that can literally transport you to a tropical paradise (Blueberry Lavendar Mojito) or a front porch swing of a rustic farmhouse(Gooseberry Lemonade). The “Home Bar Essentials” chapter sets the stage for success for even the most novice host and the easy tool kits found with each recipe are invaluable! As much as I am enjoying summer, Autumn’s recipe for Cozy Pomegranate Cider and a log on the fire sounds like a great combination! I can hardly wait to have a Harvest Party!
Great recipes! Great gift!
This is a great book for your friends and family, too. I bought 3 extra copies to give as gifts. Friends are always asking for seasonal cocktail recipes for their parties and gatherings. This is the book. She explains every recipe and step. The drinks are delicious including the freshest Bloody Mary possible. Cheers!
